WHY is my HIGH quality car sound system HISSING AT ME ALREADY!?
I recently had my stereo completely redone by a place called automatt in hicksville ny which i must say does very high quality work. I figured that therefore everything would b fine. I turn on my infinity kappas and 4 channel amp, along with a kicker l7 and a zx750.1 amp and it sounds so amazing. 24 hours later, there is a hissing out of the infinitys and it wont go away. I couldnt have blown anything, as i have a really good system plus i didnt push it yet. WHAT THE HECK IS GOIN ON? You turn the volume down, you hear hissing. The second the car shuts off, no more hissing from the speakers. Please help asap
you may have blown a tweeter. if you crank it does the hiss go away? if so then your gains may be a little too high.
If not then you did blow the speaker. it could have blown if the peak power on the amp is rated higher than the peak power on the speakers and the music you listened to just happened to cause the amp to push it's peak powerto the speaker. Take it back, if they are a quality shop, they will go after the warranties and take care of you as a customer.
