Has anyone ever had an IV when placed it caused your hand to look like a latex glove was blown up on your hand?
I have had numerous IVs and nothing like this ever happened. It literally was as if a latex glove blew up on my hand and fingers.
Doctors or nurses usually begin in the hand to start an IV because if they blow a vein in the hand, they can continue up the arm. If your hand looks like something blew up on it, then they blew a major vein in it. Expect to see some pretty bruising soon.
