How does a magnifying glass work?
Can anyone tell me how a magnifying glass works step by step?
Simple version! Something about convex lenses and light rays...in less than 10 steps!

A magnifying glass is nothing other than a single convex lens. A convex lense bends light entering from one side towards the centre axis on the other side. If it is a well made lens, then it will bend all the light smoothly & accurately. What happens then, is that when we look though the lens, it SEEMS to our eye/ brain that the light is coming from something much larger !!
The second thing that ens can do is to COLLECT much more light than our eye can, and focus it onto an area smal enough for our pupil to absorb. This is the second reason why magnifying glasses are able t do their job.
