Comment on my poem "Beauty Preserved in a Glass?"?
Beauty preserved in a glass,
Sheltered from decay
By an airtight flask,
Dried, pressed, and put on display,
A plant without a thirst
Or need of sunlit day,
Or so it seems.
Perfection locked in a glass,
The loveliness seen
Through a clean clear flask,
Roses flawless weaved akin
Into a charming bouquet,
Graced by drooping leaves of green,
Or so it seems.
Nature imprisoned in a glass,
Fated several years to last,
In a cramped and tiny flask,
Without natural sustenance,
Yet of such it is a mask,
On which rest its beauty,
Or so it seems.
A fallen petal in the glass
Hints of more to fall,
The sign of a leaking flask.
Now every bud stands tall,
But each with time will stoop.
Beauty withers beneath this law,
And so it seems.
It sounds Beauty and the Beast inspired. I like it but it begins confusing:preseved, shattered by decay, air tight flask (huh?)
