What am I doing wrong?
My favorite games are blackjack and baccarat and usually i do pretty good at first. i will play for a few hours, betting cautiously and making bigger bets occasionally and will often accumulate several hundred dollars. Then all of a sudden i will start losing and its like nothing i do can stop it. sometimes i think another player made a bad cut, or a good player leaves the table and an idiot buys in, or a new dealer comes and takes a card out of the deck and everything just goes to hell. Is it likely that it is almost impossible to play more than a few hours and expect to keep winning? Maybe i should just start setting time limits to play. I am really sick of this pattern repeating itself over and over again.
You are only doing ONE thing wrong. You are fooling yourself into believing that there is actually a way you can BEAT casino games.
You can't.

Truth #2 - Losing money at a casino is just a little bit EASIER!!! This one takes a while to finally accept. You are just beginning to see this Truth, but it seems you are far away from ACCEPTING this Truth.
There are lots of people just like you. I was one of them for many years. They actually believe that if they do the "right" thing at a casino, that they can WIN at casino games. Like actually win more than they lose in the long run! Again - you can't. You believe this MIGHT be true, but you still haven't accepted this as fact.
The really bad news is this: By the time you finally accept the truth that you can NOT beat the casino, it may already be too late. At some point in time you will become addicted. Once that happens, it won't matter to you that you KNOW you can't beat the casino. You only care about getting that thrill of winning once in a while, even though you watch your bank account drain, your bills pile up, and your credit card debt grow.
It's a very fast ride down the toilet. I am very afraid that you might be heading down that ride. Think long and hard about what you'd like out of life. All of that will go down the drain once you take that ride.
